Austria's Stefan Kraft seals Oberstdorf victory

Austria’s Stefan Kraft claimed the season’s first Ski Flying event at Oberstdorf in Bavaria.

The 23-year-old sent the crowd into raptures with jumps of 227.5 m and 218 m.

This was Kraft’s sixth win in the World Cup, the second this season and his first ever in Ski Flying.

Andreas Wellinger, a native of Bavaria,
provided the home support with the thrill of the day with a massive record breaking jump of 234.5 m.

The Polish jumper Kamil Stoch finished in third place.

All three podium finishers gave the thumbs up to the new Heini-Klopfer-hill following its €12 m overhaul.
