Tom Price, an outspoken critic of Obamacare, has been confirmed as the next US Health and Human Services Secretary.

The Orthopaedic surgeon, who is also a Republican Representative for Georgia, has been described as President-Elect Donald Trump’s top choice for the job.It is now up to the Senate to confirm the appointment.

Trump campaigned on a pledge to repeal President Obama’s signature bill, the Affordable Care Act. Price has long championed reforms to replace the health insurance law. These include a plan of tax credits and expanded health savings accounts, among other plans.
