A court has upheld Jean-Marie Le Pen’s exclusion from France’s Front National party, but has allowed him to remain honorary president.

Le Pen was kicked out of the FN by the party’s leader, his daughter Marine Le Pen, following inflammatory comments he made about the holocaust.

The ruling is seen as a set back for Ms Le Pen, who is seeking to broaden the party’s appeal ahead of presidential elections next year.
