Marin Cilic won his first Masters 1000 title on Sunday.

The Croat beat double Olympic champion Andy Murray in the final of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.

The 12th-seeded Cilic raced into an early lead producing an array of show-stopping shots en route to sealing the first set 6-4.

Murray put up more of a fight of it in the second, but Cilic continued to show the form that saw him win the 2014 US Open.

Cilic wrapped up the match sealing the second 7-5 – a result that ended Murray’s fine run of 22 consecutive match wins that included a second Wimbledon title earlier this summer.
