Nico Rosberg has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Formula One’s powerhouse Mercedes until the end of 2018.
The 31-year old German joined the British-based Silver Arrows team in 2010 and has finished the past two seasons runner-up in the championship standings behind teammate Lewis Hamilton.
This season has also turned into a race to the title between Rosberg and Britain’s Hamilton.
The pair have dominated proceedings this season and won nine of the opening 10 races so far.
At the halfway stage of the campaign Rosberg holds a one point advantage over his teammate going into Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix.
