Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has left hospital in Milan following heart surgery, the replacement of an aortic valve. He will be 80 this autumn, and faces two months of convalescence.
However he insisted he still wanted to serve his country and bemoaned what he said was a “lack of leadership” in Italy in a 10-minute speech to assembled reporters that took in Brexit and the fortunes of his football club AC Milan, supported on either side by an aide throughout.
