Austria will hold its re-run of the presidential election on October 2 after the country’s highest court ruled that poor election procedure in some areas meant the result could have been skewed.

Former Green Party leader Alexander Van der Bellen won by just 31,000 votes ahead of the eurosceptic Freedom Party’s Norbert Hofer in May. He has already suggested Austria should hold its own referendum on EU membership. Critics say he is a far-right wolf in sheep’s clothing.
