Yoga fans across the world have gathered to mark the second International Yoga Day. In Chandigarah, Northern India, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined thousands of people to perform “asanas” or yoga exercises. There were similar gatherings in Kalahandi district in Odisha, eastern India, but also in Canada, Australia and even Afghanistan.
In 2014, The United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st the International Day of Yoga following a call from PM Modi during his address to the UN General Assembly.
