Police earlier said they had found 11 bodies of which 10 were children.

Local media reports said around 50 people, mostly children aged 12 to 15, were on the boat trip. It is thought that two of three boats being used for the outing on Syamorzero lake in the Republic of Karelia had capsized.

The mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin tweeted that initial information indicated that the children who died were from the capital.
