“Out with Temer” their banners read as supporters of Brazil’s suspended President Dilma Rousseff called for the removal of her interim replacement. Others held photos of the ousted leader with a simple message: “Return, dear.”

Michel Temer’s all-white, all-male cabinet is at the helm while an impeachment trial is brought against Rousseff.

A recent poll suggests more than a quarter of Brazilians are pessimistic about the interim leader’s government. The majority, it appears, want new elections this year (2016).

On Thursday (June 9) Rousseff said that if she survives removal from office during the trial, she will push for a referendum on whether or not to hold early elections.
