The majority of those injured are thought to be children, six are seriously hurt
Eleven people have been struck by lightning at a park in central Paris.
Eight of the injured were children.
The French Interior Ministry says six have are in a serious condition.
It happened in the Monceau park in the north-west of the French capital.
Local officials are quoted as saying the children, aged between seven and 14, had been attending a birthday party in the park at the time.
A spokesman for the French fire brigade says the situation would have been worse if an off-duty fire officer had not been on hand to give first aid.
