Spain’s King Felipe has presented the country’s highest literary award, the Cervantes prize, to
Mexican writer Fernando del Paso in recognition of a career spanning six decades.
The 81-year-old, who has suffered a number of health problems, was determined to make it to Madrid on Saturday to receive the honour, come what may.
