And also...A very British boat scandal, a far-right change of heart and one cat's underwear obsession

British humour hijacks boat poll This story shines a light on the infamous “British” sense of humour. An online poll was launched to find a name for a new polar research boat. But it was hijacked by James Hand, who put forward the silly suggestion of ‘Boaty McBoatface’. Despite this a panel of experts could still choose the final name, dealing a blow to democracy. Not the breast way of smuggling drugs… A Colombian was arrested at Frankfurt airport after she was found with 1 kg of cocaine inside her breasts, said German customs officials. The 24-year-old admitted to carrying the drugs, which had been inserted into her body during a hastily-arranged operation. The drugs have a market value of 200,000 euros, a customs spokesman said. “This is the first case in Germany in which drugs have been smuggled in this fashion,” spokesman Hans-Juergen Schmidt told Reuters. Brussels survivor also avoided Boston and Paris blasts A survivor from the attacks in Brussels on Tuesday has an eerie ability to be seemingly in the wrong place at the wrong time. Mason Wells, who suffered leg injuries and burns in the blast, was in Boston when the marathon bomber struck and near the French capital last year for the Paris attacks. But that’s exactly what happened in Germany when a lead candidate for the ultranationalist National Democratic Party (NPD) was involved in a car crash. Stefan Jagsch, who was set to contest local elections for NPD in the Hesse region this month, was pulled free by two Syrian refugees, according to the local fire brigade. Jean Christoph Fiedler, the NPD’s leader in the Hesse region, told the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper that the Syrians had “likely performed a very good, humane deed”.
