Acclaimed keyboardist and leader in the progressive rock movement, Keith Emerson has died, aged 71.
The Yorkshire-born musician was perhaps best known for founding Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Band mate Carl Palmer confirmed his death, but did not specify a cause.
Emerson died at his home in California.
