France’s Alexis Pinturault held his nerve to protect his early lead and clinch the overall combined title in Chamonix on Friday.
Dominik Paris produced a superb display but it wasn’t to be for the Italian as he finished 0.27 seconds behind to take second place ahead of French pair Thomas Mermillod-Blondin and Victor Muffat-Jeandet.
The French just missed another sweep in combined after an impressive 1-2-3 in Kitzbuehel last month. But Mermillod-Blondin leapfrogged Kjetil Jansrud to finish runner-up to Pinturault in the combined standings.
