Spain has won this year’s Miss World beauty contest which took place in the Chinese city of Sanya on Saturday.
Mireia Lalaguna Royo’s victory was announced to a television audience of around a billion people.

Miss World is the oldest surviving beauty pageant. It was intended to be a one-off event as part of the Festival of Britain in 1951.
