At least five people have died after storms in central Italy caused major flooding and landslides.

Italian news agency ANSA reported a 70-year-old woman died when water flooded her home after torrential rain in the Italian province of Benevento.

An elderly man suffering from heart disease reportedly died while clearing out flood debris in the same region.
