Scores more have been injured after the crane crashed down onto the Grand Mosque, smashing through the roof.

The Mosque was crowded at the time.

Emergency services are rushing to the scene and the area has been cordoned off.

The Grand Mosque has been undergoing construction for some time.

Mecca is preparing to host hundreds of thousands of Muslims for the annual Haj pilgrimage.
