Poland to pay millions in compensation to drought affected farms

Poland will pay more than 500 million zloty (118 million euros) in compensation to farmers who lost crops due to drought.

Authorities estimate that tens of thousands of farms lost large proportions of crops, cattle and milk production as their pastures dried up in unusually high temperatures in July.
