The United States and Bolivia announced on Tuesday that they are working to restore full diplomatic relations.

The two countries fell out in 2008 after Bolivia expelled Washington’s ambassador, accusing the US of conspiring with the right-wing opposition to overthrow the government.

The US responded by ordering the Bolivian ambassador to leave.
