Greenpeace activists in Spain have rallied in favour of the freedom to protest.

After climbing a crane near the Spanish Congress in Madrid, they unfurled a 32-metre banner reading “Protesting is a right.”

The move came on the eve of the introduction of a controversial Citizen Safety Law which will see tougher controls on public demonstrations.
