Italian Elisa Di Francisca celebrated her third consecutive European title in the foil dicsipline at the European championships in Montreux Switzerland.
In the final Di Francisca beat Russian Larisa Korobeynikova 15 -13.
For the 32-year-old, who is also the reigning Olympic and 2010 World champion, it is her fourth continental crown after 2011, 2013 et 2014.
In the men’s sabre discipline Aron Szilagyi enjoyed his first European title.
The 25-year-old Hungarian, who is the current Olympic champion, struck gold when beat Germany’s Max Hartung 15 – 11 in the showpiece match.
World number two Alexey Yakimenko and fellow Russian Nikolay Kovalev went home with the bronze.
