Twenty-nine people have been killed in wildfires in Russia. Hundreds more have been injured while more than 1,000 homes have been destroyed or damaged according to the Russian media.

The fires started in Khakassia, a region in southeastern Siberia by farmers burning grass in their fields but spread quickly because of strong winds fanning the flames.
