A plane has skidded off the runway at a New York airport, according to the city’s fire authorities.

Delta Airlines flight 1086 left the tarmac before hitting a fence at LaGuardia airport, according to AFP and tweets from the Fire Department of New York (FDNY).

Local media report several minor injuries, added the news agency.

Fuel is also leaking from the aircraft, say FDNY.
