Branislav Ivanovic opened the scoring for the visitors with a superb header just before half-time but it wasn’t to be for Jose Mourinho’s men as Edinson Cavani equalised in the 56th minute.
Elsewhere, German giants Bayern Munich were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Shakhtar Donetsk in Lviv.
Pep Guardiola’s men dominated their opponents from the outset and enjoyed more possession but were unable to break the deadlock.
