Beagle 2 was part of the European Space Agency's Mars Express mission
An 11-year-old Martian mystery has been solved with the discovery of Britain’s “Beagle 2” spacecraft. The vessel went missing during its search for life on the red planet. It had been due to land on Christmas Day 2003 but disappeared without a trace. Now photos from NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter show it landed safely but only partially deployed.
