Roman Koudelka of the Czech Republic outclassed Simon Ammann to claim a ski jump World Cup event in Engelberg on Sunday.

The 25-year-old cleared 135.5 metres before making sure of the win with an impressive leap of 138.5 metres.

Koudelka scored a total of 289.6 points, 5.2 ahead of Ammann who jumped 134 and 136.5 metres with Michael Hayboeck of Austria completing the podium, a further two points back.

Koudelka earned 100 World Cup points and this result sees him move to within two points of leader Anders Fannemel. Hayboeck is currently lying in third place in the overall standings.
