New Scotland Yard has been sold to investors in Abu Dhabi for more than 400 million euros. The group said they would redevelop the old headquarters

New Scotland Yard has been sold to investors in Abu Dhabi for more than 400 million euros.

The group said they would redevelop the old headquarters of London’s Metropolitan Police into flats, offices and a hotel.

The site on Victoria Street had been headquarters of London’s Metropolitan Police since 1967. The building’s iconic sign will be relocated to the new HQ on the banks of the River Thames.

The sale is the latest in a wave of foreign investments which have been criticised for inflating property prices in the British capital.
