Brazil’s footballing legend Pele has left an intensive care unit in Sao Paulo and is on the mend following a urinary infection.

The 74-year-old three-time World Cup winner was initially admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital two months ago for an operation to remove kidney stones.

He was discharged on 13 November.

However, he returned ten days later with the infection.

Doctors now say his health is ‘evolving well’ and he will continue to be treated with antibiotics.
