FARC rebels released a Colombian general on Sunday leading to hopes that stalled peace talks in Cuba can be resumed.
The Marxist rebels captured five hostages two weeks ago. In response Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos had called a halt to peace talks in the Cuban capital Havana
Two others who were being held alongside General Ruben Dario Alzate were also freed on Sunday. The rebels had previously liberated the other two captive soldiers on Tuesday.
Santos refused to continue the negotiations in Havana which are aimed at bringing an end to the decades of violence in Colombia until the hostages were released.
