Turkish Internet users were quick to come up with ways around the Twitter block.

The hashtag #TwitterisblockedinTurkey quickly became one of the top trending tags since the Twitter ban.

Twitter has published an update on how to keep on tweeting by SMS.

Turkish users: you can send Tweets using SMS. Avea and Vodafone text START to 2444. Turkcell text START to 2555.
