This figure surpasses the previous highest daily total of 4,944 flights, which had been recorded on 10 August 2024.

According to the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA), air traffic controllers handled all traffic while maintaining high safety standards and applying the relevant national, European and international regulations.

As noted, the record set in August 2025, with 4,916 flights, had already been overtaken on 4 July 2026, when 4,925 flights were recorded.

Based on current flight-planning data, the upward trend in air traffic is expected to continue throughout August and into the first two weeks of September 2026.
