EU.XL, Euronews’ new weekly deep-dive programme, addresses the disconnect between EU citizens and the institutions and becomes the bridge between policymakers and Europeans.

European affairs and EU policy affect daily life all over the continent, but they can feel far away for many European citizens. The decisions that are made in Brussels impact energy prices, data protection, border rules, and how Europe handles crises - amongst many other key things.

Still, many people find EU politics hard to follow. The language is technical, the processes are complicated, and the decisions often seem disconnected from everyday life.

With a team of expert reporters and using AI, Euronews' newest project, EU.XL addresses this disconnect and becomes the bridge between policymakers and European citizens.

Our idea is simple: European politics can be clear and tangible at the same time. Just because something is complex does not mean it has to be hard to access. We want to make EU affairs clearer, more relevant, and easier to digest.

Starting in January 2026, and every week, we will break down one big, complex European story. We choose topics that matter in Brussels and raise real questions for people across Europe. We turn these stories into key facts, explaining what’s happening, why it matters, and how it affects your life. We keep things clear and straightforward, leaving out the jargon.

The EU.XL coverage is built around how people consume news today. We combine clear visual explainers that break down our weekly topic with facts, context, infographics, and short videos. We also invite you to take part in polls included in our coverage.

We also bring you in-depth articles, an AI-powered chatbot that provides reliable answers in your language, and a weekly newsletter that shows why each topic matters.

Our content is published in 9 European languages. Our goal is not just to translate, but to make European policy and decisions accessible across borders, cultures, and languages.

EU.XL is not here to tell you what to think. It is here to help you understand what is happening and why it matters to you. European politics should not feel distant. EU decisions should be easy to follow.

To kick things off, we want to hear from you. Take part in our first EU.XL poll on Europe’s security and defence, and share your perspective on rising tensions, the EU’s defence measures, and citizens’ readiness for a potential conflict with Russia or other threats. Your voice will help us bring these issues closer to everyday life and shape how we cover them.

Are you ready to go to war?

Your perspective is needed: Share your voice, join the conversation! Tell us what you think about the war in Europe, the strategic importance of defending EU borders, and European citizens' readiness for a possible conflict.

Our poll is anonymous and takes just a few seconds to complete. The results will feature across EU.XL coverage; in videos, articles, and newsletters, and will help shape our reporting as we explore how Europe can defend itself against Russia and other threats by 2030.
