China has officially commissioned the Fujian, the world’s first conventionally powered aircraft carrier equipped with an electromagnetic catapult system.

The 80,000-ton carrier can launch various aircraft types, including the J-15T, J-35 stealth fighter, and KJ-600.

Developed entirely through domestic research, the system delivers faster launch readiness and extended combat range.

“It’s an unprecedented milestone in the history of carrier catapult technology,” said Professor Lu Junyong from the Naval University of Engineering.
