Video. Trump and first lady give candy at White House Halloween celebration

Updated:

The event was organized in partnership with the International Fresh Produce Association, which provided the pumpkins for the celebration and later donated them to DC Central Kitchen after the festivities.

At the White House, young children of staff members -accompanied by their parents- arrived in costume to collect Halloween candy from President Donald Trump and the First Lady.

The couple, who chose not to wear costumes, greeted families, posed for photos and signed autographs in front of the decorated White House.

The light-hearted celebration came as Trump returned from a week of high-level meetings in Asia, including talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on trade and tariffs.
