Kazakhstan is helping upgrade the multimodal Trans-Caspian trade route to meet the EU’s 15-day transit goal.

The government is investing billions of euros to remove bottlenecks, modernise rail and highways, dredge key Caspian ports, and expand its domestic fleet.  

With the war in Ukraine shifting trade priorities, the EU has made the Middle Corridor — linking China and Europe through Central Asia and the Caucasus — a strategic focus. 

Kazakhstan plans to more than double cargo volumes along the 5,000-kilometre route to 10 million tons by 2028. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
