The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade kicked off in New York City, sending giant Shrek, Minnie Mouse, Buzz Lightyear and Pac-Man balloons over Manhattan as Labubu and Lego floats rolled below.
Crowds wrapped up for temperatures in the 40s, while wind gusts near 30 mph prompted close monitoring from city officials. New York law limits full-size balloons in stronger winds, a rule that has grounded them only once, in 1971.
Police said they would decide through the morning whether any adjustments were needed, but spectators still gathered early, calling it a good day for a parade.
