Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida in Beijing on Friday, marking the first state visit by a Thai monarch to China.
The royal couple was greeted at the Great Hall of the People before beginning a five-day visit.
Thai officials say the trip is expected to strengthen long-standing ties between the two countries.
The king’s five-day visit comes as the two countries celebrate their 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
