BUDAPEST - The Hungarian government discussed the effects of a proposed Russian oil ban on the country with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on his Facebook page on Monday.

Szijjarto also said that some progress was made at the meeting between von der Leyen and Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban but more discussion was needed for Hungary's stance to change.

Szijjarto reiterated the government's stance that Hungary cannot accept the new round of proposed sanctions on Russia until its concerns are addressed.
