The world’s biggest exhibition of ice sculptures has opened in northern China.
The annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival covers an area of 800,000 sq metres and includes more than 2,000 sculptures, many lit up in bright colours.
Temperatures during the day average minus 12 Celsius but at night they can fall to minus 24, which means none of the ice will melt or distort.
The Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival first took place in 1963. It will continue until February 28th.
