On Tuesday many users reportedChatGPT wasn’t working, leading to disappointment among Twitter users who expressed their dissatisfaction with "having to use [their] own brain." The official status website of OpenAI confirmed the issue, indicating an "increased error rate for ChatGPT logins."

The prompting history board was inaccessible. And whenever the user attempted to prompt the bot, an automatic response would appear saying: "Failed to get service status."

This error was then followed by a message stating: "We apologize for the inconvenience caused by exceptionally high demand. Please be patient as we strive to scale our systems."

Indicating a change in the system's status or behaviour, the AI chatbot logo appeared in orange instead of the usual green, ChatGPT explained.

OpenAI said it was investigating the issue on Tuesday afternoon, deeming it “resolved” as of the evening.

Nevertheless, the chatbot persisted in exhibiting some of the same issues on Wednesday morning.
