LONDON - British customers will face the least amount of disruption possible in the event that their energy supplier fails, the business and energy minister and the regulator said on Monday following a meeting with major suppliers.

"Central to any next steps is our clear and agreed position that the Energy Price Cap will remain in place," the business minister, Kwasi Kwarteng, and Ofgem chief executive Jonathan Brearley said in a joint statement.
