Business Line looks at the French presidential candidates and their views on protectionism as Donald Trump changes the political landscape.

Since he moved into the White House Donald Trump has signed a series of orders based on his campaign promises, some of which have been questioned and criticised around the world.

Trump’s comments about how he will boost the US economy brought a warning from French President François Hollande that a protectionist approach would be a “dead end”.

But Hollande’s time as France’s leader is about to end, so in this edition of Business Line we look at those in the race for the top political job in France and their views on protectionism.
