AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Signify NV <LIGHT.AS>, the world's biggest maker of lights, on Friday reported a 2% rise in second-quarter core profit to 133 million euros ( £119.15 million ), as cost savings compensated for falling sales.

Analysts polled by the company on average had predicted adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, and amortisation (EBITA) of 138 million euros, after a 130 million euros result a year earlier.
