(Reuters) - Bombardier Inc said on Thursday that Danny Di Perna will head its transportation division, replacing Laurent Troger at the helm of the company's largest division by revenues.
Di Perna, an industry veteran, joined the Canadian plane and train maker last year and most recently led its aerostructures and engineering services unit.
Bombardier Transportation's current president Troger is resigning to "pursue opportunities outside the company," Bombardier said in a statement.
Troger was appointed as president of the Berlin-based division in 2015, after rising up through the ranks of Bombardier Transportation which he joined in 2004.
Troger leaves at a time when Bombardier has committed to growing its transportation division revenues from $8.5 billion (6.6 billion pounds) in 2017 to $10 billion by 2020, even as it faces pressure over performance problems with contracts in New York and Switzerland
In the statement, Bombardier Chief Executive Alain Bellemare said De Perna was the "right person to follow Laurent and accelerate Bombardier Transportation’s transformation.”
