England progress to round of 16 thanks to Ellen White's two goals against Japan.

England secured its place as Group D winners with a 2-0 win over Japan. English forward Ellen White scored both goals in a woman of the match performance.

But Japan menaced the English defence for significant spells as the Asian nation searched for an equaliser.

Japan beat the Lionesses in the semi-finals four years ago.
