EU seeks closer eastern ties

EU leaders say they want closer ties with their eastern neighbours.

The Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels hosted a number of former Soviet states.

Officials say the goal is not to antagoise Moscow.

The final statement made no direct mention of any confict in the region.
