FRANKFURT - Germany's markets watchdog BaFin on Friday said it had filed a complaint with Frankfurt prosecutors over suspected market in connection with Northern Data, which provides infrastructure for high-performance computing.

A spokesperson for BaFin confirmed that a complaint had been filed, confirming an earlier report in German magazine WirtschaftsWoche.

Northern Data, whose shares closed down 21%, was not immediately available for comment.

On its website, the company says its infrastructure is used in areas including bitcoin mining, blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, internet of things or rendering.
