Smart Regions speaks to the man behind a German battery project that's seeking to better harness the power of renewable energy.

Most batteries on the market use toxic metals, such as lithium, lead, cobalt, or nickel. But a German project has developed a more environmental friendly alternative, using organic polymers, that show promising energy-storage properties. Smart Regions speaks to the man in charge of the research.

We are working on sustainable batteries, batteries that do not contain heavy metals. This will help us to master the energy transition.
