LONDON - Lawmakers in Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party will be free to vote in favour of holding an investigation into whether he deliberately misled parliament, Johnson's spokesman said on Thursday.

"It will be a free vote," he said, citing reassurances received over the timing of any parliamentary investigation.

“We're now content that the practice of any parliamentary process will take place after both the Met (police) investigation has concluded and that the report from (senior official) Sue Gray as well will have been published."
